    S&W E-Series 1911SC 4" Great Gun Pics

I was wanting a 1911 4" for some time now, I found this S&W scandium frame at a LGS it was traded in minutes before.

At the range it ran flawless with factory 230gr FMJ and hand loads 200gr LSWC. Very please with the 1911SC, very accurate and light weight.

Nice bobtail. I love the feel of a 4" 1911.

Scandium. Great tough stuff & exceptional looking firearm that you have there.

Your "Scandium" is actually almost all Aluminum with only a very small amount of actual Scandium alloyed into the Aluminum but, just that small amount imparts some very positive properties to Aluminum metal.

    Shoot it in good health.

I wanted one but couldn't find one. So I have up and got a Sig RSC.

I may still get the S&W one day. Congrats on yours.

If you can find one they're around $1200 to $1300. But IME, it's near impossible to find them right now.

That is a fine looking pistol.

I am in the process of taking the plunge into .45 land and want a 1911 platform that I can carry as well as have around for HD. I just found this series from S&W and it has me intrigued...I'm hoping to get my hands on one soon to at least try it out.

Sounds like its a good platform! Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations, nice piece. I've been fondling a S&W E-Series the last few trips to my LGS for $1300. I looked at 1911's from Kimber, Sig, SA, Colt & Remington, but the E-Series really stood out to me. Extremely light with excellent fit & finish. I have a feeling I will be adopting one in the very near future.

Also got tired of waiting for one and got something else. What a perfect looking 1911.

I have one and it is excellent. No ammo problems including handloaded JHPs. My only complaint is personal. I don't like ambi safeties so I had it changed. I paid $1150 BUT I have excellent relationship with LGS.

Just a reminder, the full size "E" series with all the same enhancements. No Bobtail or lightweight.. Can be had for $800 a great price for this quality and features.

Thanks for the compliments. I have had it for a month now, and have run 400 rounds thru it. I is a fine shooting gun and very nicely finished. I was going into my LGS to get another gun out of layaway, and saw the S&W 1911 bobtail. I switched from the layaway to this gun, as I just happened to have the extra cash at the time. Wasn't going to let that one get away from me.
