I picked up my XD45 4" Service Model yesterday. I also scored 500 rounds of ammo. Gonna go try it out Friday and see how it does.

Nice Christmas Present There My Friend-
I've owned my 4" service model XD .45 ACP since a few days before
Christmas of '05; as I got our salesman sample before he ever saw
it~! I'm here too tell ya'- you are going to LUV this firearm. Its every
bit as good as my West German .45 caliber SIG-SAUER P220A; but
holds more food~!
Thanks, I've been looking forward to it for about a month. I have two more mags en route so that will give me a 65 rd capacity. Not to sound like a brag but I also ordered a Olympic AR-15 yesterday. Should be here in about 2 weeks.![]()
Nice, and going to the range Friday beats going to a mall!!![]()

P.S. Anyone know of a good replacement grip for one of these? Either a sleeve or something with a little more gription?
Great looking weapon!
Have fun at the range...My wife says I have to take her to the mall...I can't stand that place (but it's for my granddaughter...it's OK)
Enjoy...

great piece. I bought one a few months back, and really like it. It is my nightstand firearm now, but will get some carry time as soon as my brommeland MCV is completed. I don't think I will carry 65 rounds with me, but a spare mag will be in order.LOL
let us know how you like it, and how you like the AR15 when it comes in...I am in the market for one.

netmechanic,
You're gonna love the XD. I had the XD9 service and now I have the XD45 Tactical. As far as a grip for it, Try www.pistolgear.com. They have several accessories for the XD.
Well I had a chance to go try out my XD45 today. Went out to a buddies house out in the sticks and setup a frame to hold some B-27 type paper targets and took some empty milk jugs as well to add a little variety. Drew out a firing line at 10 and 15 yards to start with and got our little area setup and ready to go. I started out at 10 yards to see what kind of groupings I could get at close range. My first shot hit about 1/2" off to the right of dead center in the "X". Feeling a little cocky at that point I squeezed off a double and hit the first round in about the same spot and the second in the "9" area a little lower and to the left. My fourth round was the dissapointment though, I went for a headshot and hit in the throat area, that wasnt the disappointment though, the misfeed that followed that shot was.I ended up with a stovepipe sticking out the side. Now in defense of the pistol I did not take it apart and clean it but out of the box it seemed visually in good shape so I chalked it up to that and cleared the round and went back to shooting. The next anomoly was that on two occasions, on the last round, the slide failed to lock back in the open position. That was a first ever for me as I have never had a pistol do that before. Again I was chalking that up to the "Out of the box" firing. I typically do disassemble a new gun and give it a once over and since that was my only deviation from the norm I will attribute it to that for now. The ammo I was using was some Aguila 230 grain stuff I picked up from the-armory.com and until today I have no experience with that brand but there had been several posts from others using the same ammo in the same gun without incident. Anyway after running approx 150 rounds through it and after getting home tonight I spent a couple hours giving it a good cleaning with some Break-Away CLP. I'll take it out either tomorrow or Sunday for another round and see if the problem persists.
Well, now that we settled on the qualities of the Springer XD .45ACP,
I will show you MY Colt M4A3 AR-15 Post ban Match Target Competition II:
That is a Bushnell HOLO-sight afixed on top of a Calvary
Arms mount; whereas I can use either the Colts open
sights, or the HOLO-sight. Enjoy~!
