It's official, I am a Glock fan boy

Put another couple hundred rounds through the new Gen 4 G23 today. Since setting it up for "fighting" I have put a good 500 rounds through it (without cleaning mind you) and have been rewarded with perfect functionality and exceptional reliability. Easy to conceal, easy to control, and pretty good round count (13+1). I even sold my Shield in .40 S&W cause I just don't see me carrying it over the Glock.

This gun is not pretty, but it is amazing. It continues to become an extension of my arm which allows me to focus on tactics and "fighting" more. I love it. I have an M&P or two and they are fantastic as well, but the Glock is by far my favorite. Funny too, cause I did NOT like my Gen 3 G23 I had. Somehow Glock made the new 23 a very soft shooter.

Anyways, I just wanted to share.

There are many guns that are great for fighting; not just one.

It's funny how you really start liking Glocks after shooting them for a while. I have had other pistols that I liked, but nothing comes close to this. What really impressed me was taking a 4-day course in the desert (lots of wind and sand), shooting 600+ rounds without cleaning once, and not having a single problem. It's not the prettiest or even most accurate pistol that i own, but it is the one that I trust most to work when I need it. Pretty reasonably priced, too.

It seems like the dual spring guide rod does make a difference, too.

It doesn't come with a mag loaded and one in the pipe... I think that's what he means.

Just wait until you get a 1911. It moves from "fanboyism" to "disease."

I'm glad you like your new gun, you picked a good one.

Traded in my G23 Gen 3 for a new G23 Gen 4 with the AWESOME beavertail backstraps. Just picked if up on Friday. Hoping to get to the range in a few days. I've fired them before, but not with the beavertail. If I can control this similarly to my 19 Gen 4 in rapid fire or single hand, I'll carry it.

Exactly correct. Maybe I should have said "customizations".

Absolutely agree. I never said otherwise.

I'm sure he meant that he had replaced half of the factory parts with "better" ones, then bought after-market magazines that ACTUALLY work, and polished the feed ramp so that it would feed hollow points. Then he must have tested every self defense load on the market to find the ONE, SINGLE loading that would feed, at least most of the time, reliably.

    Oh, wait...

    He said GLOCK.

Nevermind, I thought he was talking about another platform.

That was funny. All I meant was I did a stipple job, added a grip plug (helps mag changes), night sights and a grip force adapter. Everything else is factory fare.
