Just brought home my new S&W M&P Shield 9mm

That was the longest 48 hour waiting period of my life.

Just brought home my new Shield 9mm. This will be my new primary CCW to replace my fullsize Glock 17. Im a bigger guy, so I can get away with concealing it, but all my holsters arent condusive to casual on and off carry if, lets say, I just wanted to run to the gas station for a gallon of milk late at night, I would have to half undress.

So I bought a Shield 9 and ordered a Sneaky Pete Holster with the belt clip, and bought a DeSantis Pro Stealth holster too.

I feel like the last guy on Earth to be buying one, but Im excited nevertheless.

I have the LC9. I have shot the Shield a good bit. I think the Shield is easier to shoot well than LC9. I can't see it not being a great carry gun.

Congrats on your new Shield! That 48 hour waiting time is an abomination. I received a call from the police supply store in Butler two weeks ago that my M&P 40C was in after waiting 8 months for delivery from S&W. Then I had to wait 48 hours & since the store is closed Saturdays I couldn't pick it up until Monday. A whole weekend of not being able to shoot it & this weekend doesn't look good either. I'm glad I've got my full size M&P 40 to carry until I test the compact.

I'm a small guy & I carried that FS 40 OWB for almost a year with no problems but I'm glad WI has open carry & printing doesn't matter. Even so I still was able to conceal it adequately.

Be sure your S&W Shield is not one of the recalls:

M&P Shield Safety Alert - Smith & Wesson
There are some good videos for checking the recall as well, just do a quick search.

I hear its an easy check and most all checked are good. I have the M&P .45 and love it!! Good luck with your new shooter !!

    Congrats.!
Just saw my sister-in-laws shield 2 weeks ago, and man that thing is slim.

    Glad you like it.

FYI, I usually carry, with shorts or jeans, either around the house or out and about, an M&P .357sig compact, or an SP Sig .357 sig 13 round.

Congrats. I picked up mine over the weekend. I am also a bigger guy and find it way more convenient to carry than my FS MP9. I have been carrying mine IWB with a Sticky holster. Super comfortable and not having a clip makes it so easy to just grab it and go or take it off in the car if I am going into somewhere it is not allowed. I bought it on recommendation and was very reluctant at first...waiting for it to fall out of my shorts leg...lol. It doesn't move. May be worth taking a look, especially for ~$20...

    Not my pic...

Congrats! I had a Shield last year, great little gun. The thinness really helps it to conceal easily.

Just fired 100 rounds or so through mine tonight after work. Every time I shoot this gun, I like it more!

Great CCW gun. Get a Sticky or a Remora for it and you'll love it even more.

Last guy on Earth to get one? Be serious. I've been on a waiting list since last October.

I could get one if I wanted to shell out five bones for one. No thanks. My guys quote 365. I can wait.

Well done on your new Shield, and welcome to the forum.

M&P Shield 9mm Sneaky Pete Holster (Belt Clip) - SneakyPete

Ill have to look at those pocket holsters. It does fit well in my pocket despite what some bloggers claim. However, I cannot speak highly enough for the Sneaky Pete Holster. I had one for a Beretta Tomcat before I sold it. Theyre great.

Not the Last to get one-I am still eyeing one. What did it run you in Green Bay?
