Sig Sauer P226 | For Sale is listing a brand new P226 with stainless slide at $1449.95!

Dang! I owned an all black Sig P226 back in 1990. That's listed at $1065. I wish I had never sold any of my guns...

The best way to stop incoming fire is accurate outgoing fire.

You traded for a great, extremely accurate firearm. Enjoy it.

any one have any experience with.....

    a 226 elite dark and a mk 25?

im looking to aquire one and for the life of me the only difference i can truly see between the two that matters to me is the SRT which i can do myself for 35 bucks. my main question is does anyone see a benefit to the beavertail? does it really offer a benefit in terms of countering muzzle climb on the webbing of your hand or is it pure asctetic BS? i know the slide is high enough that hammer/slide bite isnt an issue.

    any help would be awesome.

i own two Sigs without the added beavertail (229 and 239), and three with the beavertail (220 Elite, 229 Elite Dark, and 220 Super Match). so far as i'm concerned, the beavertail is 99% for looks (which i like), and 1% for function (possible help indexing the hand when drawing quickly). no disadvantages, IMO. no digging into my side when carrying (though i usually carry OWB. IWB might make digging in more likely).

p.s.: i think the word you want is, "aesthetic".

p.p.s.: although it's possible you meant, "ascetic".

I am not a fan of the Sig beaver tail. I prefer my P Series guns without, both for looks and function.

One other benefit of the Mk25 is the phosphate coated internals; I would rather own the Anchor than an Elite, especially being you are Navy. Thank you for your service.

That is an X-Five, a custom shop gun.
