What is THE Most Expensive Handgun Ammo? : Your Guess:

My guess of THE most expensive handgun ammo would be .50 Caliber Bullets, which I think go for about $2 a bullet. (And then there's the extra $12,500 for Hand Surgery)

So, what's your guess? (hint: think "out-of-the-box"; there's a lot of weird calibers out there, hunting etc.)

PS: No fair looking it up. Just from what you think yourself

I would say rounds for a Gyrojet pistol. If you can find them.

I would have to go with this one also; a vender at some local shows has a Gyrojet pistol and quoted me $50 per round.

I've never heard of the Gyrojet pistol before but after looking into them, ME WANTS. Though, "ammo could cost up to $100/round" is one tough pill to swallow..

Yeah my local store was selling them for nearly three dollars a round...I'm not really sure they count as "handgun" ammon though.

My guess: the frangible engineered stuff (like MagSafe and similar). Once upon a time, these were ~6rds for over $20 or so. Haven't looked in a long time, but I'd bet it's more expensive now.

the Lone Ranger's silver bullets (?)

is that far enough "outside the box"?

p.s.: i ACTUALLY vote for the Gyrojet 'cartridges'. in my youth (very long ago), my LGS had a Gyrojet hanging on the wall. the store is long closed, but i sometimes wonder what happened to that gun.
