    It's a semi-auto of the .40 S&W caliber type...

Don't use the clips, they won't work. Just swap em out for magazines and you'll be set.

What else do you want to know about the gun? It's a good choice.

I have the M&P 45 4.2 barrel. It is much like a Glock 21, but with a better grip, trigger and sights.
It is the ONLY sidearm, of many, I would dare compare to my Colt Defender .45acp

It would be difficult to find a better sidearm. IMHO

Glad to see another M&P compact owner. I got my M&P 40C 3 weeks ago, I took it to the range and shot about 30 rounds with any issues. It feels way better than my Shield, and a bit more accurate. I decided that the compact should be my primary carry.

A few years back,i bought the full size M&P40.It's one i keep on my night stand. It's a little big for me to conceal. When i bought it,i don't think the compact was out yet.

For whatever reason,i seem to shoot it better than anything else i have. The only thing i have ever had to do was replace one of the mags. One day if i get the spare dollars,i want the compact.

It's a nice weapon. One of my employees bought that as his first gun and loves it.

Shoots well and feels good in my hands, YMMV. He carries it all the time, although in a Blackhawk holster and not concealed.

    Good choice and congrats!

I've owned a M&P 40C for a couple of years now. So far, it's been flawless. For IWB, I use a MTAC Minotaur. Spend the money & get the magazines with the shoe, the make for a more secure & comfortable grip.

I am finding the more I shoot my full size M&P the better it feels. It is the only gun that feels better in the hand than a 1911 to me. Here is the last target shot from 7 &10 yards .
