I've been depriving myself
I got my CCW back in '98, and in them thar' good ole' days, I was carrying a 2 1/2" S&W Model 66, with a little Model 60 to take up the slack. We traveled well together, saw many places, did many things. But, over the years I eased into the 20th century as far as firearms technology goes. But, I always avoided the Glock, for one silly reason or another (ugly - square - polymer - yada yada).
After going through numerous pistols, calibers and sytems, I was carrying a Sig P232 as my latest. Well, last weekend I happened to be in Nashville Tennessee, and happened upon the Nashville Armory, which has gun rental and a totally awesome indoor range. So, on a whim, I paid my $20 to spend an hour on a lane with a Glock 26. And found love and happiness. It was a genuine blast to shoot, never having a hiccup, snort or sniffle. I had a few minutes left, so I got a box of Hydra-shoks and tried those out too. The Glock had no complaints, seemed to like them.
Wednesday, I went to my favorite local gunshop and officially became a Glock person, x2. I brought home a Generation 3 Model 26, AND a Model 36. I had them on the range for a couple hours yesterday, and everything is gravy. I might even go back today when they open the range at noon...just because.

I too used to "hate" Glock pistols....ugly, plastic, etc...
Like you, I rented a Glock (G27) and compared it to my personal Sig P239 (40 cal).
The Glock beat the Sig in every category, except one......looks.
While the Sig looked slicker and more refined.....the Glock won out for: capacity, tougher finish, lighter weight, shorter trigger reset, lower bore axis (quicker to get back on target), and more durable magazines.
For me, Glock in my hand while in the gunstore=fail.
Glock in my hand while shooting=win

Great....now you can clean your guns in the dishwasher!
If I gave a crap about what you think about my guns.....it was early this morning and I already flushed it!

Congrats! I guess will have to hit the armory range one of these days. TN, here, too.
I came to glocks just like you. I bought everything else first, too. I just sold my last SIG the other day. Nothing wrong with them, just the Glocks are better for me.

It the nicest indoor range I've ever used. Really good lighting, good ventilation, lots and lots and LOTS of goodies to rent. I'm sure you'll like. I didn't check into memberships because I'm almost 80 miles away. I was just there giving the motorcycle a good "wringing out".

Glad you like them, for me it was just the opposite. Rented several to see what all the worship and hoopla was about, good thing I only rented them and didn’t buy.

Welcome to the club ! I held on to my revolver until late 2000, when the job said take the free G19 now or we might force you to buy it later. As a true New Yorker.."free is for me!" I love the G19 and added a G26 for off-duty in 2003. Great guns !

Great choice. My Glocks have served me well for many years

Glad they work for you but they just don't fit my hand right. I end up with Glock knuckle pain.
Nothing but Sigs for me from now on.

Yep, I hated on em . . . till I decided to just shoot one at the range to see what all the constant praise was about, now I own 2 and carry one daily.
Congrats on the new pistols, and you did the posting right and included the two beauties pictured nicely!
