Bought my wife her first pistol - Ladysmith

I bought her a S&W 3913 Ladysmith 9mm. She absolutely loves it and can't wait to shoot it! It is quite the gun!

I is a nice size for her hands and it "looks cute." She loves my XD SC 9mm and so a 9mm Ladysmith should not be a problem. Anybody ever shoot one of these?

Now I need to get her to go for her CCP.

Awesome choice! I'd love to get one myself. I think this version of the 3913 and the "standard" version are some of the finest semi-autos ever made by S&W.

I forgot to mention I got it for $450. A guy bought it brand new in March 2006 for his girlfriend, but then they broke up so he traded it back in. He paid $650 for it.

Ladysmith is a real nice little gun. I think you'll like it.

You got a good price on what may be the best of the S&W semiautos. I have read dozens of favorable postings on various websites about this particular gun, which seems to have a strong following. In many ways the S&W 3913 resembles the Sig P239 in 9mm, in that both are slim, single stack, aluminum frame DA/SA guns with a decocker. The S&W additionally gives you a thumb safety, of course.

I own the predecessor gun to the 3913, a S&W model 39 with similar features that I bought new in 1968:

Shooting bud got his wife one of these and by far it is the best gun she has found. She has tried many but this one is ''it'' for her.

Good deal you got on that

It's funny that many of those single stack 9mm's (HK P7, Walther P5, Beretta 92FC Type M, Sig P225, and this gun) became cult classics.

Way back when the wife wanted a ladysmith 3913 , couldnt find one so had to settle for a standard 3913 and put an action job in it . Nice find for her , tell her congrats from us too .

She shot it today and she absolutely loves it!!!! She likes how she can slide it back easy and the short trigger pull is really good for her. We were looking at a Taurus millennium Pro 9mm and we read on here about the long trigger pull. We went and handled one at the gun shop and pulled the trigger and it is real long.

I am glad I got this gun! It has made my day seeing her love it! It was a little cold to shoot (11 degrees) for her, but she had a blast!

A great fun alright. Maybe a bit heavy, but it keeps the recoil down

And depressing how many have been discontinued.

    Perfect carry gun!

I had a 39-2 that I loved. It was a sweet shooting gun. I know she will enjoy it...
