    Barretta tomcat

I was thinking of buying a Barretta Tomcat, but started hearing horror stories about them constantly jamming. However, these stories were on a different gun site from ten years ago. I would like to hear from people who have owned one in the last few years and their experience with them.

I have one. Its rock solid. No jams regardless of the ammo I ran thru it.

Btw, I TRY to get my guns to malfunction. I want to find out in practice, before I rely on anything at crunch time. As far as Im concerned, the Tomcat is good to go. I WOULD trust my life to it to function.

I had one that I shot it a lot and the frame cracked sent it <$74.00> in and it cost me $140.00 for a new one and sold it before I even shot the new one.

    Funny, buy American. ha.

I had a tomcat in 1996. It worked well , keep it for 13 years and when small waaay lighter pistols came along in 380 and 9mm I could not figure out why to keep it. Sold and bought a pf-9 that weight less .

My story also. But, this was when they first came out. I shot it to death. My Brotherinlaw bought the new one from me. I bet he doesn't have 50 through it. He is not a shooter.

Several years ago... there were problems with the INOX versions jamming. That got blown out to be "ALL"..... but the blue ones never did have the problem. Now, I hear a 'once in a while' issue with the INOX and still hear no one with any problem with the blued one's. Mine is blued, and never had a problem of any kind..... nor have I heard of anyone with a blued one having the problem.

...Barretta had a boid, not a tomcat...his name was Fred...

...I had 3-4 of the old Berettas...all proved reliable for me....22 and .32...

My son and I each bought one at a gun show same vender, same time. His was a jamomatic, and mine ran like a Swiss watch! We both eventually sold them, because we thought there were better carry options out there.

Thanks, guys. I may look into the NAA Guardian. I have the Kel Tec P32 which hasn't given me any problems (about 200 rounds). I just want another pocket 32.
