    G23 to 19

Just changed over to a 19 with the lone wolf barrel, very happy with the results. I thought my wife's 26 was fun to shoot, this now passes that with no looking back!

I have been thinking about a Lone Wolf barrel for my G-19. A friend of mine has one and he says with the LW barrel twist the gun will eat anything, especially reloads. It also cures the problem of the unsupported chamber. Let's have a range report.

I put 150 rounds down today. Decided to keep it reliable ammo, 2 boxes blazer brass and 1 American eagle. Fed all rounds and shot tighter groups than I normally get with the 23 or the 26. Think that is more me than either of the two pistols. I did not have a chance to shoot some ZVS Slovakian rounds i have. I wanted to test average reliability first. Next time out as i deplete the wife's supply. It's just a nice change for me, I'm finding the 9 mm round more enjoyable shoot.

That's how you do it - shoot someone else's supply of ammo first

Agreed, and I would apply this to 2nd generation as well. If the ammo came out of a box and the gun isn't functioning, something's wrong/ broke.

Had a wolf conversion barrel for my G23, it didn't like steel or reloads - so I sold it and got a G19 that does eat anything. I too haven't heard of stock glocks being picky, but have seen first hand that the wolf barrels can be.

I like my G23. I can shoot both 40 sw and 9mm. Good when I couldn't find 9mm for a year. I don't shoot reloads or steel ammo. And quality brass shoots fine in a LW. But if you do shoot reloads I've read pl have problems. I would just get a G19 if you want 9mm only.

Did you have to swap out the recoil spring assembly also?

You will have to get g19 mags if u use a LW barrel conversion 40 to 9.

I tried that and my 23 kept jamming. Returned the Lone Wolf barrel and just bought a 19. :)

My second range trip this am before work, drives home that I shoot the 19 better. Now I'm thinking EDC with this set up. Although I have not shot defensive carry rounds as of yet and will do so before making the change; the Lone Wolf barrel with Glock 19 spring and mag's has shot 300 rounds of various ammo without an issue. It does not eject as far as I might like, so you catch some brass on occasion, but I can live with that. Any opinions as to why anyone wouldn't recommend the conversion for EDC? I'm thinking about the reliability and altering of a weapon issue as well?
