My XDs-45 was received on 9/3 and is being shipped back today.

Wow that's quite a wait. I have been trying to decide if I want to send mine in or not. I haven't had any malfunctions with mine and it seems to be very rare that the malfunctions occur. Should i do it anyways?

Mine says my gun has been sent back to me, but I have received not notice of shipment.

    4. Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

I would send it in. If there is ever a need to use it in self-defense or an accident while shooting it, it would look very bad to be using a gun recalled for safety issues.

Mine was one of the first in & I got back it just a few days after they announced the recall solution was ready and that shipping would begin in a few days.

Send it in. As LC said above. If you ever have to use it do you really want the prosecution using that against you. If you do experience a slam-fire & G-dforbid someone gets killed as a result do you want that hanging over you?

I handed mine to FedEx on Sept 5, and it's due to be delivered back to me today on Oct 29. I believe that's 54 days.

Look for it to be gone around two months give or take a week either way.
The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.

Although many sent their guns in early and have been without them for a while, SA only started repairing guns a couple weeks ago and it seems like they are getting them out pretty quickly. Even if someone else was without their gun for 54 days, it doesn't necessarily mean you will be without yours for that long.

The benefits of keeping spares are becoming evident from this thread.
