My brother has owned the FNP 40 for a few years now. He loves it and has had absolutely zero problems with it. I've had a chance to shoot it a few times and really like it also. Reliable, accurate, solid gun. It's the only .40 I've ever fired so I can't speak about the recoil relative to other .40's, but definitely manageable for me and I'm a smaller guy.

mine is a SAO 9mm which FN made about six years ago. Its a full size service pistol that is much lighter loaded with 16 rounds of 9mm than my loaded Glock 19.
Gun is very accurate and totally reliable if you can get over the fact that it feels like a toy in your hand.....its so light.
FN pistols just don't get the love they deserve.

I have a FNP40, very nice pistol. My wife's EDC.

I have an FNX45T. It's a really great .45. 15+1 and a trigger that works however you like it. Reliable, shoots anything with .45ACP on the box. Very pleasant to shoot. Pretty big. Better for home defense than concealed carry.

My duty carry is a FNP45 Tactical. Great gun, no issues of any kind.

I picked one up today and messed with it. It had the threaded barrel and it came with 3 magazines. It may be my next gun.

I shot one a while back and it was an excellent shooter.

If they made a "more compact" version, I would sell something laying around if I had to, to pick one up.
They, IMHO have many of the pistol makers turning things out now, beat by a long shot.

I had an FNP40... It was a great gun, but too big for my fame and how I have to dress majority of the time (I am a pastor). You will not be disappointed in the gun! Very reliable and accurate!

    Thanks for the comments!
My next question is, do you get a bulge on fired cases?

    Nope. Not on my FNX45T.

No bulging with either standard pressure practice ammo or +P duty ammo.

My FNX-9 had been awesome. No failures whatsoever.

    It's also for sale.
