Finally shot the Sig P238, sweetest shooting .380 I've shot so far!

Several months ago, just as we moved back home from my last military assignment we purchased a Sig P238 for my wife as a concealed carry gun. Due to the move and the amount of time I've been working at the shop (which also recently moved) we had yet to get around to shooting it (she is still waiting on her permit). We finally did this morning and I was really impressed. She shot it very well and we both found the recoil to be very comfortable. I've fired a handful of polymer .380's before and never cared much for how they slapped my hand. The p238 was nothing like this: the grip was comfortable, the trigger was decent and in general it was just a pleasant gun to shoot.

I've been looking for a new gun to carry during those times you really just don't want to carry (Generally for me that is a Ruger LCR), while I'm drawn to many other .380 due to their weight, I'll be picking up P238 for myself.

Preaching to the choir . The only pocket gun I can shoot without grip wrap/extenders is a 238 . They are fun guns man. I frankly like them so much I may just pick up another version or two maybe the desert or gambler . They are very fun little guns . Next thing you will know you will be buying the 938 ( just make sure to get a newer one ...)

Oh also colt mustang mag work in the 238 just fine .And the CT laser is great on these .

    What version you get ?

Nice one man . I have been thinking about sticking some wood grips on mine . I think most of the guns are the same save the grips . Some do have different colors though. And with thous grips it does look like a cute baby 1911.. Of all the sub comapct 380 pocket guns out there this is only one with the perfect saftey to me . Not too big and just hard enough to knock off ..

I wish I could wear IWB I bet you make some nice holsters for it .

Mine has the rosewood grips but also has some etching making in gorgeous too. It's the first semi auto I was able to easily rack the slide on and it just fit into my small hands.

My father carries two, but that's him. One has a Crimson Trace system. I enjoy shooting them.

Yeah, the grips do seem to be a big component of the variations, which is why I'll be looking based on the finish I want (grips are easy to change). I'd really like to see an equinox in person.

Yup, we do make a nice P238 holster (One of our biggest sellers actually).

Nice! This is one of 3 pocket guns I have narrowed down as my next purchase.

IMO the P938 is what I would carry between the 2. But the P238 is like carrying next to nothing. The P938 just because it can shoot a larger caliber and is close in size

The P238 is the sweetest shooting .380 I have shot; I liked it so much I bought its bigger brother the P938. Both are great guns and just convenient to drop in a pocket for a quick trip.

    Best of the small .380s

I believe the Sig P238 is the best of the small .380s on the market. I've had mine for about 2 years, and it compares very well with my other "small" guns, the Kahr MK9, the S&W 642 and the Walther PPK.
