I love the look of the Springfield Armory GI.
But I did replace the grips for some of the brown plastic GI grips.
I also replaced the MSH because it had the ILS.
Now it is just the way I like it.
It is simple and ugly just like me.

I still wish they would put the old GI knurled short triggers on them....had a Stainless version about 10 years ago.....
Now THAT'S a weapon. Well done!

Sweet pistol right there. There's something to be said for simplicity.

That is a good looking gun. Nothing ugly at all about a 1911 the way it was intended to be. In fact, I am to the point where I like them better that way.
I do wish the GI Springer came with good sights. As much as I like the way the old warhorse looks for me to take it seriously it needs that single improvement. I'm sure someone offers that gun, but dangit I want it in a Springfield!

Aw, very nice, sweet gun. At first I thought you had a pair and I was jealous. You can come down to Texas and eat BBQ at our place anytime as long as you carry that.

Congrats on the new gun.

nice where u find one?
They stopped making them unfortunately, they are not ugly to me,they
are a pretty good copy of the WW2 A1,forged frame too.
Most other copycats are made of alloy or have series 80s garbage
Springers is #1 imo
I had the "Champion" version for a short time....but am prone to buying/selling/trading guns, and so no longer have it.
p.s.-hey twoguns, we should go shooting some time! I have a suspicion that we live in the same area....(I'm in south-east VT)
Mine performed flawlessly, with ZERO malfunctions and I liked the raw, stripped-down look of the "GI" version.
Ain't nothing ugly about that piece of art...congrats!
