The answer to a 1911 question is "What is a Colt?" Alex, I'll have Glock history for $1000.

Well, I was wrong on that one! I thought the OP was referring to the cheap series of Turkish guns Buds Gun Shop is having specially engraved for the branches of the Armed Forces.

Just googling them and looking for reviews, there isn't much available. As already mentioned, I'd save some money and go for the CZ/Dan Wesson.

For 2400 I'd want the grip safety to be fit better than it is. Makes me wonder what other corners have been cut.

Go with what you know.
I sure wouldn't venture into an unknown 45 at that price when there are so many good ones for a lot less. Colts and Dan Wesson would be my first choice then I'd jump to a Springfield TRP or something..
It's not a problem til they make it one!
