    Para Warthog

    Just acquired a new Para Warthog. Wanted a Nite Hawg, but was having troubling finding, ran into this one, and it was a good deal.

    However, I'd kind of like to convert it to the Nite version. So I need things like hammer, grip safety, thumb safety, slide release, etc. All in the black version.

    Para recommended Brownell's, said they would have it. But didn't find this stuff there.

    I have not had a chance to call them direct, but thought I'd see if that was the only source.

    Hope this is the right forum.

    Thanks.

    How's the recoil on the Para Warthog? I've never shot a .45 with anything less than a 4" barrel.

    I don't think it's bad. I also have a Kimber 3" and liked it well enough to go for this double stack.
    I haven't put many rounds through this one yet, so can't speak well to accuracy.
    Once I put more through it , I'll be able to tell how accurate I am with the recoil it does have.

    stewartjwnls;
    If you don't mind me asking what will be your method of carry with your new Para Warthog? (I'm new to concealed carry and I'm open to suggestion as to concealed carry methods).

    I have a Bromelland Max Con V on order, so that is my plan. I'm new to this as well, so not necessarily your best source for advice. If you look in the holster section, I think you'll see a lot of support for this holster. That's what pointed me in this direction.
    However, as you are probably seeing, the decision is fundamentally based on when and where you carry. In today's age of silly emotion turning to fear and thus to legal ramifications, I felt that an IWB holster was the best way for me to keep from exposing the fact that I will carry to what seems to be an hysterical public. All the other styles I looked at seemed like they left me open to too many scenarios where someone might get a glimpse of the horrible evil gun.

    It looks like a good holster with a lot of positive feeback and you're right it all comes down to when and where you carry. I had seen this IWB holster from Galco and I just might try it out.
