My father-in-law recently mentioned that he wants to purchase a firearm, strictly for home defense. He mentioned getting a double-barreled .410 shotgun for the house, but has since stopped looking.. I donít think he has fired a weapon of any sort in over 30 years, so probably ďsimpler is better.Ē Also, he is over 80 years old, and at times, his hands have become unsteady. Iíve brought up the purchase topic a few times, but he hasnít taken any action recently. He has a Rohm RG .38S, but itís awfully old and hasnít been fired in decades.
Any advice from the forum on what handgun/shotgun option is best for this case?
