The D model you talk about was one of the first pistols I bought. It carried nice, easy takedown, and moderate recoil. But since I had no prior double action only pistols I kept anticipating the next shot that lead to flinching low. Also the front sight was loose and as I shot it would work its way out. But even without a front sight you could still point shoot alright. Lack of magazine selection and accessories plus the trigger pull helped me decide to sell it off to finance my next purchase. Overall if I had had more money at the time I probably would not have sold it off. Scale of 1 to 10...I rate 7

if it like the other beretta gun made then you should not have any problems with it.

Great gun as long as you like double action. Myself, I don't care for DA except in a revolver, but that's me.
Beretta is the gold standard for reliability. My 9000 has NEVER once FTF or FTE and most a rated for upwards of 30,000 rounds.
