All opinions welcomed! 2nd Carry/Nightstand Gun

I currently carry a S&W Shield in 9mm. I love it but would like something with a little more capacity for carry and also a nightstand gun. I am 5'10" 160lbs. I shoot both left and right handed but primarily left handed. Operating controls are a piece of cake with either hand. My current choices are Glock 19 Gen4, Walther PPQ, Glock 26 Gen 4, and last but not least M&P 9c. Thanks ahead of time for everyone's 2 cents.

Of the ones you listed, the M&P9c is my slight favorite over the Glock 19.

Of your choices, G19 or the 9c is what I would go with. I would pass on the 26, as the "small gun" role is fulfilled by the Shield.

Another option - CZ 75D PCR, unless you are set on a striker action.

Either/or...I prefer the Glock trigger, but that M&P sure feels good in the hand. Balanced out, they cost about the same, carry about the same...either will make a good double duty gun.

You make a poll then leave out the best selling weapons made and include a second rate glock kind of a canned hunt.

A Glock G19 would be my first choice on your list and you can carry Glock 17 magazines for reloads.

+1 on the 19. Much better trigger out of the box than the Smith.

Before you move to a Glock, handle and hopefully shoot one so you can assess for yourself if the different grip angle alters your accuracy or control of the gun.

I also second the motion to "Czech out" a CZ-75 in any of its variants. Full-size steel gun, 16+1 capacity, easy shooter.

You missed one. Springfield XDM 3.8 compact 13 or 19 rounds. Excellent nightstand gun.

The PPQ has excellent ergos and probably the best trigger of any striker-fired pistol on the market.

The G19 is a close second for its well-deserved reputation and abundance of available accessories.

Well ... until 'smitty got my attention with his suggestion of the steel-framed CZ, I was going to say: keep it in the family and go with the Smith & Wesson M&P.
