    G19 Gen4 - Trigger Creep

I picked a G19 Gen4 today. I am curious about the trigger, as it has more creep than compared to my Gen3 G19 and G23, which both break fairly crisp after the initial take up, and after reset. The Gen4 has noticeably more travel after the take up but before it breaks.

Is this typical off Gen4s? The store owner didn't have any other Gen4s for me to compare to. I'm not worried about it, it actually feels similar to my XDs which I've become quite accustomed to, I'm just curious.

None of you guys have comparison experience with Gen3 and Gen4s and care to comment?

I noticed the same thing with my Gen 4 19 compared to my wife's Gen 3 G19. I've heard some people putting the Gen 3 triggers in the Gen 4s. They say it makes the trigger more like a Gen 3. I haven't tried it yet but I'm thinking about it.

The Gen 3 trigger also feels a little lighter.

I honestly cannot tell too much of a difference between the two gens and their triggers. Were I can tell real big difference is when I pick up my PPQ compared to my Glocks. Not even in the same world...

Different trigger bar and connector angle on gen 4 does make a slightly different feel over gen 3. Side by side you notice a difference especially against a broken in gen 3. A quick 25 cent trigger job and a few hundred rounds later will improve the gen 4 quite a bit. Good luck and enjoy breaking in a fine combat pistol...

So far I can notice a difference between my wife's and mine. I forgot to mention until I read one of the posts above that the Gen 3 has a 1500 round trigger job and mine only has a 250 round trigger job.

By the way I do a .25 trigger job before I ever shoot a new Glock.

Yes, the gen 4 does have a little more creep. When I first got my g4 19 I noticed it while dry firing it with my g3 23. I didn't like it, but when I took em to the range and shot em side by side - I had NO complaints and all the minor differences in the trigger went out the window.

After about 500-800 rounds and LOTS of dry fire, mine got a lot better, the creep is a good bit less. I still can tell a little bit when dry firing next to a gen 3 - but I don't think it's worth a moments worry though.

Appreciate the replies, I just wanted to be sure I didn't get an out of spec one, sounds like I did not. I did assume that it would get a little better with use, and after 100 rds Saturday and another 100 or so dry-fires, I think it's gotten a little better already. I really like the beavertail backstrap on this gun, I feel like I can manage recoil a little better with it.
