If you're already used to the 238, the 938 is probably a no-brainer. My EDC is a Shield in 9. I really couldn't ask for a better weapon. It's been 100% reliable from day 1. It's very accurate at SD distances. It conceals well. And, you can buy one for less than $400. What's not to like?

If you have no issues with your sig now buy the 9mm if the size and capacity is fine. Maybe a lite weight colt XSE 4860 model.

When looking for new pistol calibers, I prefer caliber conversions (if available).
Everything is the same, just different rounds. No brainer for me!

There are several good small 9's to choose from, almost too many to list. I carry a PPS 9mm and a Sig P290rs, depending on weather and wardrobe. I love both.

Look at a Sig P239 in 9mm. Buy once and buy right.

Also the Ruger LC9 should be considered.

Carried it today in an IWB appendix position and found it easy to conceal under a T-shirt. The S&W Shield 9mm is a great choice and probably best in class over the LC9 and Beretta Nano. That said, the LC9 is an easier gun to conceal, Here's a discussion about the two. Pass on the Kahr and Kel-Tecs - they are crap.

Do a thorough search of the forum...this question is asked all the time. Lots of insight and experience on this forum. I'll chime in for S&W: I EDC the Shield. Dig it, big time! My bro's EDC is M&Pc in 9mm. Both great shooters. The M&Pc also comes in .40 cal. You can get a 9mm conversion barrel for it and you get to guns for the price of one...FTW!

I run Glocks (G19 & G26) so can't speak to the particular SIG you mention. I think a G26, M&P 9c or a Shield will fit the bill. Good Luck !

I'll second the suggestion of the 239. 232 is my usual EDC, but this 239 I just got is certainly going to get carried regularly too.

Also, the 290 might be worth a look. Tiny little single stack 9. Got an email this morning saying its available in .380 too now.
