    Range report Shield 9mm

I picked up a Shield at a show in February. Since then I have been able to put at least 800 rounds through it. I'm loving this gun. I shot almost 300 rounds last night and finally got everything figured out with it. I shot quite a few at 25 feet then switched to 15 and practiced defensive shooting. I would empty the 7 round magazine then pop in the 8. I was very pleased with the way it was shooting, and I finally was doing my part better. I really love this gun.

On another note. Right after I got the Shield, I took my wife shooting for the first time. She is from Thailand and we got married a little over a year and a half ago. She didn't like the Shield so much, but she loved shooting my Taurus Model 85. She was hooked immediately. She actually asked for a gun for Valentine's Day. I bought her a Ruger Bearcat and she absolutely loves it. I love it too. I am amazed at how accurate that little thing is. We actually did all the paperwork in her name and she was approved in around five minutes.

I am currently waiting for a Single Ten I put on layaway. They sent it back to Ruger because somehow the cylinder got scratched. Ruger didn't even bat an eye, they are taking care of it even though it is obviously not Ruger's fault.

The Shield has been amazing and has been very reliable. I can't say enough how much I like this little gun. Last night made me love it even more.

Good to hear, the Shield is on my radar.
I carry a .357mag because no one bickers about the .357mag being "enough".

Nice shooting! I'm happy with my Shield too.

Glad your wife is shooting too. My wife loves to shoot as well.

Held a shield (actual shield not the compacts) for the first time at the beginning of the week and was shocked! Just how slim it was but still fit my hand. how light it was and the blade like thinnness... If I was a person who struggled concealing a full size gun, the shield would definitely be on my radar. Glad to see you enjoy yours!

In fact I like my Shield so much I'm considering converting my PF9 to .22 so that I can have some range fun with that too.

My 9mm Shield is one of my favorite single stack nines. It is about the only semi that shares belt/pocket time with my S&W 442. Both are exceptional carry choices. Congrats on a fine pistol and a spouse that gets it.

I have actually been carrying my 9mm Shield more than my beloved Sig P239 more and more often now. I'm finding that the thin profile and light weight of the Shield are tough to beat as the weather warms up and I'm mostly in a T-shirt now. In fact; I'm off to the range this morning to work the Shield out some more. So far, after a few hundred rounds, she's been flawless with a variety of ammo. I think it's a keeper. The P239 may go on the block...

Thanks. The only problem with the spouse is she is an enabler. I was looking at a J-Frame the other night and she said, "Buy it." I had to restrain myself. lol
