    A pocket .223

You guys seen this thing? I think I'll pass

    heizer_defense_par1_pocker_ar_pistol.jpg

In 2013, Heizer Defense introduced the PS1 Pocket Shotgun, capable of firing a single .410 gauge or .45 Colt round.

Heizer is now enhancing their design to chamber the .223 Rem. cartridge. Known as the Heizer Defense PAR1 Pocket AR Pistol, this “iPhone-sized” pistol uses the same reliable stainless steel frame as the PS1 Shotgun.

Debuting this weekend at the 2014 NRA Show in Indianapolis, the PAR1 Pocket AR Pistol also features familiar controls from the PS1 design, as well as a storage compartment in its grip.

Availability of the PAR1 Pocket AR Pistol is slated for July 2014 at an expected retail price of $449. To see the pistol in person at the NRA Show, visit Heizer Defense at Booth #6274 or stay tuned for an exclusive video right here on GunsandAmmo.com.

You think they could make the design on the grip more attractive since it'll be tattooed on your palm for several weeks after firing.

Piece of cake compared to a .45/70 derringer.

I saw their hokey 410 shotgun pistol a couple weeks ago. Basically if it ain't a 12G I ain't interested. Not to mention they want five hundred bucks for it. The old adage "a fool and his money are soon parted" comes to mind.

Seems to be a novelty item...something to use against your practical-joke-playing buddy.
Bring him to the range, and slip this new '.380' pocket pistol into the line-up.
And then laugh at him as he hops around screaming in pain.

...isn't the whole argument against real AR pistols that anything under about 11" fails to generate fragmentation velocity in a .223?

so this thing might as well fire the 5.7x28...? (which we all know how much support it usually gets...)
which means it might as well be a .22 mag...?

I wish these guys would stop. I mean it seems their stuff is of a decent quality... but their ideas, and marketing, stink.

now a single shot micro pistol pistol chambered in... 500 B&M Alaskan... that'd be interesting...

EDIT- for what it's worth I doubt it even kicks hard. a 55 gr. bullet and it's not even coming close to generating enough pressure to reach even close to an acceptable velocity, I bet recoil is mild, but the concussive blast and noise and flash has got to be something...stupid waste of powder...
Ha!, maybe that's the point, at extreme close range you may not hurt him with the actuall bullet very bad but the burns he'll get... it's more like flamethrower with a bonus low velocity bullet thrown in!

    Stupid.

It will also serve as a close-in flame thrower in a pinch.

Is this not the 1st of aprial... Me I rather have a 7.62x39 as that round cares far less what size barrel it is fired out of then 223 from what I rember .. Also this would more then likly hurt like the dickens to fire ...

Still it has been done but on a lot larger guns ...

Not as bad as the 45-70 derringer I once saw though ...

Except to just be able to say, look at what I got, I can't figure out a good use for it. I guess you could get a laugh or two watching someone fire when not expecting it but no thanks.

Save the fact that own could not own or make a handgun over 410 without a lot of paper work ( though they do make them but not easy to get ) ...

but yeah for 500 I can get a bond in 410 and 38 so yeah fool and his money
