Having fun with my Colt 1911

I got to take my 1918 Colt 1911 US Army out today. I was very pleased with it.
I put on a new rear sight the other day because the other rear sight got loose.
It was shooting 4 inch groups before I change the sight. Now that the rear sight stays
in place, I am getting 2 1/2 inch groups at 15 yards. I am very happy with my 1911.
I have some military grips coming for it just for looks. This one will never be a collectors gun
but it is a great shooter for less than $700.

Yup, 1911's are fun shooters !

Nah ... those don't shoot 2 1/2-inch groups at 15 yards. Everybody "knows" one can't hit the broad side of a barn with a G.I. .45 automatic.

Amazing how those ol' loosy-goosy gov't issue 1911s will shoot. Good for you!

You really need to make it feel at home. You need a 1903 Springfield and a M1 Garand to keep it between.

I could only find and afford the WWII keys with the big rings. Not correct for WWI but they will look good.

    Those would look good.

In case you haven't heard of them, Simpson Ltd has a pretty good assortment of Keyes Fiber Co. stocks.

Wow what a looker! Glad to hear it's shooting even better, though I could swear I've heard 1911's don't function well... :P
