Glock 19 gen 4, is it a good CCW or too big?

I have a nice Glock 19, and I want to carry it (currently carry chiappa rhino) but is it to big for CCW? I have seen a lot of ccw holsters for it, but that doesnt mean its good for the job.
    Anyone with any input/ideas?

I carried a g19 for about a year. It's nice light weight and easy to carry. I was using a broken in comp tac minatour holster at 4 o clock. I once went to a gun show and had it in my holster until I had to check it and when I pulled it out of holster the guy behind me was impressed because he never saw anything that looked like I was carrying it

Im gonna estimate that about 40% of folks here carry a G19 or 23 as their EDC, so few people will say it's too big to carry.

No, it's not too big for ccw unless you carry it without a shirt and pants on!

    When I carry an automatic it's a G 19 Gen 2. It's an easy carry.

The Glock 19 is/has become one of the "new standards" in concealed carry by all accounts. When last I heard, sales figures from Glock had it near the top in 9mm commercial sales. Compared to other concealed carry sidearms the G19 is easier to carry and conceal than some other platforms currently used. I personally carry a G19 often and find it very easy to hide even in summer months. I also opt sometimes for a full sized G17 or G22 which are easily hidden with the right wardrobe selections. I have even carried these in the summer with just a shirt or vest to hide them from view. Considering that countless folks carry full sized 1911's, full sized Glocks (even Glock 21's), Sigs, and S&W M&P's, the G19 is highly suited for CC work and carries with it a proven record of reliability and performance.

The G19/23 has been a great carry gun for me for going on the last 2 years.

The compact Glock (really a midsize IMO) is tough to beat for the size, weight and capacity.

Yes, with the right holster and proper attire it will conceal well.

I carried a G19 for a long while and it's a very good pistol for CCW. In fairness, I retired my 19 from EDC for a 26 which I found to be a better EDC for myself because it's a little bit easier to conceal and it's a little lighter, making it a little more comfortable. I do switch back to the 19 on some occasions and I don't dislike carrying it when I do; I just enjoy the 26 a little bit more for normal activity.

Bottom line from my perspective, get either one and you'll be very happy. You'll probably want to pick up the other one at some point and then you'll have 'em both anyway!

IMO...the G19/23 Glock is just about the best size for CCW. Your holster choices and dress attire will dictate what you're able to do here. I carry a Glock 95% of the time. If it's not the compact, it's a sub-compact. Glock is always good for the job BTW. Plenty of holsters to make this your best choice for CC.

Allow me to join the chorus. The G19 has the right combinations of carry comfort, concealed carry ease and ammunition capacity. It's hard to beat for CC purposes.

I would think a G19 would be a whole lot easier to conceal carry than a Chiappa Rhino.
