Slightly cursed time at the range

Took a few guns to the range this morning. Glock 19 gen 3, Glock 27 gen 4, HK p2000sk 9mm, and Shield 9mm. I shot the HK first and everything was great. Perfect enough that it helped push me to order an HK45 compact. Then I got to my glock 19 which hasn't ever given me any issues. Three rounds in and I get my first smack in the face. The ejection was all over the place and sure doesn't seem as strong. I've never noticed any BTF before with any ammo or reloads. I didn't even finish the first magazine before I got one of these

I changed out the mags and ended up putting about 150 rounds through the glock 19 but probably got smacked in the face 10 times and had 4 fail to feed/stovepipes/etc. Different magazines didn't seem to matter. I was shooting blazer brass, winchester white box, and federal AE. None of the ammo caused any hangups in the shield or the p2000sk. At the end, I put 100 rounds of WWB and Federal through the g27 without a single issue. Couldn't leave the range upset with a glock. I got home and cleaned everything, but now I have extra range trips planned this week to figure out what's up with my 19. Not really trying to complain too much about it, but it caught me by surprise as it was one of the last guns I thought would have an issue.

Anyway still looking forward to the HK45c. I ordered here Heckler and Koch 45C .45ACP 3.9 inch BL V1 2 Magazines 8rd Online Gun Store. Kind of surprised to see grabagun and a few other sites drop price recently. Not sure why.

Should have saved the best for last, now you need to ditch that 19 for a p30s 9mm!! - On a serious note, not sure how many rounds you have on your 19 but sounds like its the guide rod spring, if not then it may be something to do with your extractor assembly.

As for the price drop in HK's, I've been seeing that more and more lately. They seem to be sitting on the shelves collecting dust at several of my LGS's and it really doesn't surprise me as there are many good quality, reliable offerings for a good $2-$300 less. Glock's and Smith's fly off the shelves and you can't even find a Walther in these parts, but there are plenty of H$K's to be had if you don't mind paying.

That must be a chinese made glock.... the austrian models are flawless.........

Sorry to hear you had a rough go of it. I would try new mag springs and a guide rod spring. They wear out eventually. They are inexpensive and an easy place to start

I bet a good clean and lube plus a new recoil spring solves that issue.

I'll probably try a new RSA since it can't hurt to have one around even if that's not the issue.

Those things happen because the slide timing is off for some reason. Trial-and-error troubleshooting will solve it. Sounds like the other guns eliminated an ammo fault.

The worst thing was it left me flinching my eyes when I'd usually be watching the muzzle blast ha. Nothing like getting smacked in the forehead to make you start blinking again.

I've not had any malfunctions with my 19 but it has sent a few spent cases BTF...especially the first 100 rounds or so. My 17, 27, and 30S have never done that.

Glocks are cheap, just throw it away and buy a new one.

Had a Browning BDM 9mm semi-auto pistol back in the day. Shot the heck out of it. On a couple occasions earlier on, before I learned an exacting cleaning regimen, some gunge built up behind the extractor and would foul up the cycling. That, and a less-than-frequent spring refreshing could blow the cycling out of the water. Kept up with, neither of these issues ever caused a problem again, once I nailed it. Some guns have issues with failure to replace the recoil spring assy soon enough; others, a couple other springs; the 1911, the extractor or other minor issue. Strange that you're seeing something on the Glock, as they're fairly great in that respect. But, like anything, it's got springs and mechanical action like others, and at some point it'll fail just like they do.

BTW, I've shot a G19, H&K P2000SK extensively. Gotta love their inherent reliability. Just keep up with the maintenance schedule, keep fresh springs in their, keep 'em clean, and they'll generally run like clockwork.
