    P 938 Question

I have been considering the 938 primarily as a pocket type weapon. I looks like a lot of us on this forum have and like their 938s. My question is how many of you, if any, have had the external safety, either right or left side, disengage while the gun was either pocketed, or in your pocket or holster? I see on the Sig Forum that this may not be uncommon. This gives me some obvious concern. Thanks.

Never. It's a pretty positive safety.

My wife carries hers in her purse. She has never had an issue. The safety seems very secure. Enjoy

Never. I never have anything else in the pocket but the holstered pistol, and I never fiddle with it once it is secure in the pocket. Safeties just don't move themselves. Something has to cause it to move--hence my precautions.

    P 938 Question

Primarily IWB carry and it never has moved unless I flip it to off. It is a very positive control, I have occasionally pocket carry it on a Sticky #2, no problem neither.

I pocket carry mine in a Ted Blocker leather pocket holster and it has never wiped off the safety.

I pocket carry mine all the time in a remora. Safety has never disengaged, ever.

I've never pocket carried mine, not in my pants anyway, but the safety has never come off. Go to a gun shop and try one out. You'll see the safety is very positive.

"Tyro" here, and the safety disengaging while holstered continues to be the very least of my worries.

I carried one for about a year, mostly IWB. The safety never came off by accident.

Understand your concern. I have played with one at a gun store and the safety appears very robust. That said I do not like a safety on my EDC and never on a pocket carry, just something else to manipulate. IMO the trigger is heavy enough not to require a safety or they could have used a grip safety. If the 938 did not have a safety I would have one immediately.

I carry the sig 238 in pocket carry with the hammer back and safety locked and have never had a problem. Never have heard of a problem with 938.
