Got me a G19 Gen 4 this weekend

Yesterday I got my first Glock From All Shooters Tactical in Woodbridge, VA
It's a Glock 19 Gen 4 for $585 out the door. My first pistol is the M&P 40c follow by the 40 Shield. The 40 Shield is my everyday CCW pistol and my M&P40c is my home gun mounted with Streamlight TLR-3

This Glock is also my first 9mm. Hey! I like the Glock for the most part. It feels good in my hand, mainly because it's a bit smaller than the Gen 3. I held both of them BTW. To bad they didn't have the Gen 4 in OD Green which is hard to find, even online. They had the OD Green in Gen 3 BTW.

Here are the few things I want to say about the Glock VS the M&P. The Glock frame feels really light and almost no weight, kinda feels like a plastic toy, unlike both of my M&P polymer frames, it feels a bit stronger and does weight a tad more. The trigger is fantastic in the glock, I did some dry firing when I got home with the Glock to get used to of the trigger pull, weight and rest. Before I go to the range. Unlike the Shield, you don't even notice the reset and the M&P 40c is a bit better.
Holding the Glock feels really good just like the M&P 40c. I do like the mag release (Gen4) button since it's easier to reach with your thumb.
The barrel of the Glock is awesome, it's cold hammer forged just like with the FNS barrels. The slide finish of both pistols are about the same. The Glock pistol magazine is PLASTIC, wow yeah, unlike the M&P compact and shield are both steel. I hope the glock can take a beating and not scratch off after wear and tear.

So today I took my Glock 19 to the range and fire 50 rounds of Blazer brass 115gr FMJ and 50 rounds of Federal 115gr FMJ, no malfunctions at all. Accuracy is pretty good, maybe better than the 40 cal and faster followup shots as usual with the 9mm cal.
I will be using it for training and target shooting since 9mm is cheaper and I can find plenty online. Still all wally world stores in my area only have 40S&W and some 45 but no 9mm at all, even Dicks don't have 9mm still. I really like my new G19 and it's an fantastic pistol too! I'm glad you like it...hard not to! I got a Glock 26 Gen4 a few months back for summer carry but I kinda wish I got a 19. I used to have a 23 and I think the compact is the perfect size for a Glock, not too big, not too small. And I'm fairly certain that the magazine is metal underneath the plastic.

Congrats, the G19 is a fantastic pistol. I love the gen 4s.

Yes, the glock mags are metal wrapped in polymer.

Glad to hear that and thanks for confirming. I now closely examine my mags and I can see the metal on the inside. I should have notice that.

While not my favorite pistols, they are reliable tools.
IMO the G19 is one of Glocks best.
    Enjoy it!

G19 is ideal for versatile use through reduced dimensions compared with the standard pistol size. One of my favorite!

Pretty good guns. I have four Gen 4s, one of which is my 19 on my belt right now.

They call it a compact, but it feels and shoots like a bigger gun. In my opinion, one of the finest carry guns available. Pretty tough to beat.

Congrats. You have done well indeed.
