If you were limited to one model and cal. what would be your pick? I have picked my choice as the no.-1 Glock for me . The G-17 and cal. 9mm. I like many more models and cals. ,but if one the G-17 would it be . Without giving up to many reasons I would like to see and hear your pick and reasons and we will compare notes with all our other gun guru,s in are brotherhood of experts.

I am not a Glocker but first choice would be G18

Ok - I know - not gonna happen!

Actually I too would take the G17 - have shot several but that comes out tops for me.

I would have to say the G23. It was my first Glock that I bought, which I still have, and the G19/G23/G32 size frame is my favorite of the Glock frames. My G23 is also my nightstand gun. I sleep very well at night knowing 14 rounds of 165gr GoldDots are ready to go near me if someone tries to bust into my house in the middle of the night. I have nine other Glocks, but my G23 is my favorite.

    Glock 23 is my pick...

Well, if you can only have one, it should probably be a "compromise" in size and caliber, to cover all the bases. The compromise size is the "compact" Glock, as used in the G19, G23, G30, etc. And the compromise caliber would be .40 S&W - bigger than 9mm and smaller than .45. So I guess I would pick the model 23, which is a good all around gun for all uses, and is small enough to easily carry concealed.

I have one - a second generation about 12 years old with a hard chrome slide. It has fired every time and hasn't "kaboomed" yet:

My favorite glock would be the Kahr pm9 , if you insist on double stack then my favorite glock would be the S&W M&P in 9 or 40 doesnt matter. As to why , simply because both companys did it right in all the areas that the glocks dont shine for me .

Some of the reasons my no.-1 pick is the G17 . 17rd mags to 33rd mags.Up to and above 500,000rd. service life, 9mm is common, most reliable 9mm and considered the AK-47 0f 9mm,s , fast on return with higher vel. and fps because of the poly rifling 1350fps plus with some loads.price of mags, price of G17 and it just plain shoots box stock. No glamour ,but dead reliable and accurate. For SHTF pistol to back up my M-4 clone it packs lite and has good combat firepower and is rust proof. The pistol in combat is not your first line weapon, but the G17 is a world class combat pistol in a world class combat round.

    G19

Mostly I carry a 19 that I originally bought when I had a bad strong-hand injury. High magazine capacity, soft recoil, and easy availability of holsters got me started. Also easy to work on and has abundant custom and spare parts. 9 is available everywhere cheap, and it's easy to carry a lot of it around. I would not feel under-armed if it was my only CCW pistol. 124gr Hydra-Shok in the magazine, 124gr Gold dot in the spare (G17) magazine.

I don't like Glocks. Don't like the grip angle.

But, if I had to pick a Glock, it would be either the G23 or the G19.

But, I wouldn't be happy about it.

My 27, why...because it's mine! There are many like it but this one is mine Seriously though, I like it's reliablility and size and the fact that it is a 40 cal. Plenty of stopping power and still controlable.

It has been said, but I will say it again. The Glock 23 is the most perfect example of Glock Perfection. Not too big, not too small. .40 S&W offers more punch than the 9mm but more capacity than the .45 ACP.

My second generation 23 has seen thousands upon thousands of rounds go down range, and there has not been a problem yet other than magazine springs becoming a little more soft than I would like.

On a side note, I love the hard chromed slide. I need to look into doing that. The old war horse is looking a little sad with all the holster wear on the slide. It deserves a makeover.

I too would have to say the 23. It was my first Glock and is my primary carry weapon. The balance of power with the .40 and capacity with the 13 roung magazine works for me.

    My favorite Glock?

Is the one still on the shelf!

No really, I don't have one but found a new respect for them when I used one in a training class a G17 that had 50K through it and was my trainers duty gun. I liked it and it ran very well.

So, if I was to get one it would be the G19 for carry or the G17 for no carry. The 9mm is a great caliber in the Glock.
