    A little eye candy.

    Hey everyone,

I thought I'd share a pic of my newly finished P7M8. It's completely finished in NP3 by Robar minus the barrel. Both the work and the customer service were top notch. Turn around time was about 2 months. If your looking for a tough finish that's corrosion resistant, I highly recommend giving Robar a call.

Now all I need is a new Del Fatti holster to carry it in!!!

    Thanks fellas,

The only reason I bought this particular pistol is because I had read that HK quit making them. This one was well used when I bought it. Almost none of the factory blue remained.

I have heard little but good about Robar finish. That looks like a good job well done.

I have thus far had no desire to get a P7M8 or other similar but realize they do hold a fascination and are seemingly functionally good.

I do hear that due to the gas operation they can overheat with sustained use but I guess from a carry POV that is hardly gonna be a problem.

Personal question I know - but how hard did that hit the pocket book!?

Yeah, ROBAR did a total package on my M1A: NP3 interior, ROGARD Black exterior and some action work. Sweeeeeet!

As far as the over heating goes.........Well, it does get pretty hot after 100 rounds or so. But, my solution to the problem is to remove the slide after 100 rounds and give it a good spray with Rem Oil, followed by a wipe down with a rag. I also shoot the P7 with Mechanix gloves to help keep my hands from heating up. Works for me.

As far as my "now empty" pocket goes, the pistol cost a little over $800 used. The final tally from Robar, including shipping was almost $300.

I have a serious problem with buying new guns.

Very sweet there, Devil Dog. That is a very impresive sight.

I am like you, I would rather buy a used gun than a new one and then have it tuned up. Damn few people shoot their weapons enough to even break them in. Was your's shot much or just carried alot?

    Thanks Chorizo.

Yes, it was well used. But, it was the cheapest P7 I could find. The factory blue was almost completely worn off. After looking at it up close and seeing that there was no major wear marks or pitting, I knew that either Tripp or Robar could make it look new again.

I guess that ain't bad as I have heard of these going for well over $1k ....... and so you are not out much different - and having looked at the pic again, it sure does look a fine job.
