    I can't decide! Sig P232 or EMP?

I want a smaller caliber CCW besides my .45 compact. I'm stuck between the Sig P232 and the Springfield EMP. I know there is a big price difference, but the P232 seems to be really reliable and very conceable.

The EMP seems like an awesome pistol but I've heard of feeding problems, especially with hollow points. I don't want a gun that will hick up if I need it for a self-defense situation. I don't mind paying the extra for the EMP, because I've saved up, but paying that much for something that has a good chance of messing up scares me.

If you had the money what would you pick between the two?

Help me decide!! I've been stuck on this for 3 weeks!

    Thanks!

I agree - of the two, I would get the EMP, but it's not a very practical gun since it is 9mm and $1000. There are a lot of other low-capacity 9m's I'd choose for concealability.

In 380, I like the Sig, but I would go with the Beretta 84 or 85 (i'd choose 85 if you're OK with 8 rounds). The Beretta 85's longer barrell and, say, Hornady 90gr XTP bullets make a respectable self defense gun (and in nickle with wood grips, it looks great).

No more .380 for me, even with the sweet Cz83.
You can buy 9mm almost anywhere and 9mm ball is is far less expensive than any .380 except for Wolf.

With a short barrel like the EMP (or my RAMI) you lose velocity, and that is the friend of the NINE.

Loads like Cor-Bon PowRball are still
+P fast with feeding like hardball. Ranger police loads are touted
by some writers as low end .357s. I like that power in a semi-auto,
and would love to have an EMP, if only I could afford one.

I do like the colt defender. I almost bought that instead of my Para. I had the same tough decision b/w those two as well, but I'd really like to stick with 9mm or smaller. I have too many .45's as it is. Or is it 9mm? I'm just assuming it's .45

I looked at both the Aegis and the EMP. Both are great... but they were outside my budget.

Instead, I looked at and shot the Para Carry 9... and haven't looked back.

I think the P232 is one of the best looking small guns being sold today. Not that I buy a gun for looks, but het it's a Sig and will more than likely be the next gun in my collection.

Being a 1911 guy, I'd definitely pick the EMP. I've looked at a couple, and it has a great look and feel to it.
