U.S. Army is Ready to Say “Bye Bye Beretta”

According to this, they're ready to boot the M-9 in favor of something "more ergonomic" and with more "knock-down power," citing their experts who say the 9mm requires more holes to achieve the desired result.

Isn't that why they ditched the .45acp? That and NATO compliance?

So, place your bets now. They took another run at this and had a number of guns submitted for testing, then stayed with the M-9. What impact will any potential change have on the civilian market?

    Enjoy.
