Are there any wheel guns that use 45 auto ammo

Sorry if this is a dumb question!

Does anyone make a revolver that will use .45 automatic ammo. I think I saw something once called a half moon clip that allowed you to use auto ammo in a revolver.

Mod 17 smiths and colts do , as does the mod 25 ? smith , i belive taurus makes one too . There are half moon and full moon clips for the acp ammo and actualy is a .45 autorim ctg that does not require them, tho it is kinda hard to find .

Indeed Jimmy - the Smith M25 or M625 is very much ''it'' and a lovely gun to shoot. I have half-moons in the pic but actually use full moons, which makes for 6 in and 6 out real fast.

Chris if i am not mistaken that is the round but 5" variant that was limited edition for a while . Pick of the litter imho , used one for a duty gun for a while . I allways felt that the 5" n framed smiths balanced best of any revolver .

Fair enough Bob - I had not gotten to checking up. Always think of M17 as K-22 Masterpiece.

the 1917 is the smith 45 wheelie that was before they went to their # system So it makes it confusing

    25 and 625 also do shoot 45acp

    The Colt 1917 also

Taurus also makes a 5 shot i think

    Heres my 625 JM

Yes bud the 1917 or " 17 smiths " ( and colts ) were named from the date that the mil took them into service for ww1. ( or so i have been told ) Good old pistols either brand tho if you can find a reasonably clean one . I cant think of another time that two brands of gun got the same nomenclature tho as did the 1917 smith and the 1917 colt . I am not an expert on .mil firearms by any means tho .

S&W has a "Thunder Ranch" model revolver in .45acp out now.
Not sure what the actual model # is, but I saw one and it's very nice.

It's a Model 22 N-Frame, fixed sight, blued steel fighting gun. If S&W gets mine working I will be carrying this boat anchor.

Right now it's at the "factory" because of light primer strikes, deplorable accuracy and a malfunctioning Clinton Lock. Other than that it's a great handgun. I think this one was built on a Monday, by a seriously hung-over technician, and it never should've passed their Quality Control Inspection.

I am giving S&W the chance to make this "right" and look forward to shooting/carrying this piece.
