    1911 in .40 cal

I am in the market for a 1911 in .40 cal. I already have an kimber ultra carry in 45 cal. But they do not offer one in the black only the SS but my U/C is in SS. Can some help find another good maker that makes one in .40 cal. compact.

....now those are the sights Colt should have put on their new, tiny 1911 and not some darned trench.

yea srfl i fear the " guttersnipe " is makeing a comeback in new clothes . That is the best case i can make for putting serious time and training into point shooting . I dont see sights as a crutch , and like aimed fire , but with the " ditch sights " i do feel that your better off training for ergo-indexing.

    Roger that Bud and RR.

cnova: that first STI gun posted by Bud is the LS40 (available in 9mm as the LS9). It seems like a really nice gun. Nice and compact and flat.

Honestly for myself i have a mini mill , i can put sights on a golfball if i choose lol , but damm folks put real sights on pistols , you dont have to use them but many of us wont buy the pistol unless sights are there .

LOL Bud a mini mill is less than the cost of a good pistol and twice as frustrating as a cheap pistol . But heck i got more time than sense anyway .

Well it's not compact but I have a Kimber CDP Pro in .40, and my wife has a Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry (Series I) in .40.

Watch out though, the Kimber mags were garbage, I had to order some mags from Tripp Research.

Para used to have a P10 in .40 but thier current offerings are almost all .45 and 9mm.
I think the only guns they make in .40 is the fullsize model, atleast they were the last time I checked thier web-based catalog a few days ago.
