    For Ironmike....VP9 vs G19/G23 comparison w/ GUNPORN!!!!!!!!

Ironmike made a special request for a visual comparison of the G19 and the VP9. Well, I dont have a G19...but I borrowed a G23 and was happy to oblige. The following are some visual comparisons of the mentioned guns, along with my CZp-07 throwmn in for good measure. I illustrated some of the more significant differences between the three, primarily grip shape, as this seems to be one of the most common considerations when choosing a gun, and rightfully so. Aside from grip shape, the images really illustrate the lack of significant differences in length, width, etc... the longer barrel length of the vp9 not withstanding. Oddly enough, even with the longer barrel the VP9 is not much longer than the G23.

Side note: The vp9 grip looks distinctly odd from the rear, due to the fact I have the large and small side panels installed, which makes it visually side heavy. I left it this way to illustrate just how customizable this grip system is.

Note the similar characteristics of the CZ P-07 and VP9. so much so, the VP9 fits in my P-07 holsters very well

Rear view: note the side heavy grip of the VP9 due to the large grip panel. This picture also shows very well the deep cutting of the grips on the P-07 and VP9, allowing for a higher hand hold, whereas the glock is less so. Also note the overall square grip of the glock compared to the sculpted grips of the CZ P-07 and VP9. Not a bad thing, just not for everyone and common complaint of glocks.

    Visual comparisons? LOL!

    If you say so.

Actually I do say so. Yes pictures would be a visual comparison. I apologize if I did not do so in a manner that you find sufficient but I didn't ask for your input so it doesn't matter. Feel free to do better And yes, grip shape is a major factor whether you think so. Many new shooters pick a gun based on how it feels, even with out knowing why it feels that way... Experienced shooters are able to express it more technically. With words but it still is about feel. So again, I do say so. Feel free to constructively argue your own point, but if your just go no to be a troll, please refrain. Thanks a bunch!!!

Also, no where did I make any claim this was a top secret scientific comparison. It is merely my observations articulated in a manner I found sufficient... Sorry you found them disappointing.

    The CZ P-07 is appealing.
No internal lock or magazine disconnect on my pistols!

Nice pictures. Grip shape is a deal breaker for alot of ppl. Reason why alot of ppl don't actually like Glocks and get a XD or M&P. From all the reading I have done. I like Glocks and the grip doesn't "bother" me but its not my preferred. Some ppl have made the Vp out to be a large gun. I went and saw one today its not large at all .I can carry it in the winter. But it was a 10rd mag. They said 15 rd mags Vp will be in soon. So I'm gonna wait. I will have more $$ anyways

Nice Pictures! I've had to opportunity to man handle the VP9 and it's a wonderful handgun but I just couldn't stop comparing it to G19. It just seems that much bigger than the Glock for me not to want one. I think once they make a compact version of this I'll be all over it.

The ht is ~ the same as a G17 ~7/16 taller then the G19. And the length is ~1/16- 1/8 longer. Seems that much different? For me it's not because I will conceal carry in a OWB holster. Thanks to the Op for taking the time with the comparisons. It helps reading user reviews in stuff i want to buy. Especially with good pictures.

You must have big hands. It's almost a full size pistol. To me, the perfect size pistol is the "Compact" at 5.0"h. (What is the distance between the very tip of your index finger and the fold of the thumb when the thumb is pointing straight up?) Saying that "it's not big at all" is like saying "it's not small at all." :D

That picture says a LOT! At least to me. To me, the PPQ is too big at 5.3" high. My brother hates the 1/4" space under his pinky on the Colt Commander. Everyone is different.

For him it is the perfect size, no? He calls it a "Service" size. (At least it's shorter than the XD Service/Tactical.)

Don't ride the slide release... Maybe his index finger bumped the right side slide release... (See video)

I know its a full size. Almost the same as a Compact G19. PPL are saying its to big to carry conceled. So yes I was thinking full sized Sig or 1911. Not at all I held one today and I can conceal it easily with a light jacket, Its short.

Most people can conceal anything. :D All that 's necessary is a shoulder holster and a jacket. Or IWB and a big shirt. I don't think I could pull a Gov 1911 from AIWB, though. Maybe if I was 6'6" like Hickok45. (Some 5'0" guy is going to come along right about now and say that he can AIWB carry a FNH FNX45... :D )

Story told to me by a Floridian: Florida. Men are going to attack a woman. She pulls out a .22 with a 12" silencer from her purse. Guys scatter. (Was News @ 11).

My point was most ppl say its to big so I'm keeping my G19. They are really close in size. So I wonder where there impression it was so big? I'm not saying its small at all. Just not huge like I envisioned it. Your making it more then it is.

I understand completely. The g19 is a great gun. I am an oddball however.... I have to squeeze my hand onto the grip of the g19 and u hate it.... I owned a G22 bevausevifbthisvbut then I didn't like the square grip shape. Wearing the Vp9 around the house all day has been awed I me. I find it just as comfortable as my P07, but a little extra barrel and grip length has never bothered me
