    STI LS-series

With Springfield's new EMP on the market, I was thinking of other single stack, compact 1911 models chambered for 9mm. The only other one I can think of is the STI LS9.

Does anyone have one or has anyone had experience with the STI LS-series?

No experience but - I sure would not be averse to owning an STI - any STI

I really looked at one at the last gunshow I went to. It was very nice. Well made, which is no suprise from STI. It carried 8+1 of 9mm. Was very thin, about 1/8"-3/16" thinner that the standard 1911 format. The grips on the one I looked at were a beautiful rosewood slim grip. The one thing I did not like was that the front sight was actually a part of the frame and not replacable, but then this gun was designed for concealed carry and all components were geared to that function. It had a really nice trigger, about 4-5lbs in my estimation and no creep whatsoever. I think the price was $799. If I were looking for a concealed carry 9mm, I would seriously look at this gun.

I have only seen the EMP in pictures so I cannot offer any advice here.

There is also the Kimber Aegis. If you do a key word search here it will yield some good information. However, $799 for a STI sounds like one heckuva deal.

I forgot about the Kimber Aegis II. My primary concern about the LS-series is a result of reading several bad reviews. Having no experience with STI, I humbly ask for others opinions.
