    Glock 27 Gen 3

I have one on the way....I recently traded off my Gen 4 26....but I figured with the 27 ..I could have a 9mm conversion barrel if I decide to...or a 357 Sig conversion barrel ...just a few different options with the 27...

Yep, had my G27 for 10+ years. First CC pistol. It's now a G33 for a barrel conversion. Love it!

I found my G27 to be a bit of a handful. I always thought it was trying to kill me. My M&P40c on the other hand, shoots much softer. I envy those who can shoot it well. Love my G23, the 27 not so much.........

I really hope you like it, but I wouldn't have switched out a G26 for a G27. It's a snappy little beast in .40, probably even worse with a .357 Sig barrel in it. Good SD gun, but it isn't going to be any fun at the range.

Ah yes...the baby Glocks. I started with a G27 back in the day. In 2008 I got my then GF a G26 for her birthday. I shot the G26 and it was just as snappy as my G27. The G33 isn't much different, but actually it's easier to deal with than 9mm or 40S&W and more accurate IMO. Hard to describe.

    Blast yes, recoil no.

    I have a 26, 27, and 33
"Snappyness" is load dependent in the 40
The power factor calculation (PF) is useful to compare recoil out of similar size pistols, or different loads out of the same pistol.
    Glock 27:
    Federal Hydra-Shok 180 gr. @ 940 fps / 353# KE / PF 169
    Remington Golden Saber 165 gr. @ 1,028 fps / 387# KE / PF 170
    Winchester Ranger T 165 gr. @ 1,113 fps / 454# KE / PF 184
The PF calculation reveals that Ranger T 165 produces more recoil than 180 Hydra-Shok or 165 Golden Saber (and I subjectively agree).
Ranger T 165 is "snappy" whether it is shot from a 27 or 23, IMO.

Power factor (PF) calculation to compare calculated (which I subjectively agree with) recoil of select 9mm, 357 Sig and 40:
    Glock 26:
    Golden Saber 124 gr. +P @ 1,118 fps / 344# KE / PF 139
    Ranger T 127 gr. +P+ @ 1,176 fps / 390# KE / PF 149
    Glock 33:
    Ranger T 125 gr. @ 1,280 fps / 455# KE / PF 160
    Gold Dot 125 gr. @ 1,284 fps / 458# KE / PF 161
    Glock 27:
    Federal Hydra-Shok 180 gr. @ 940 fps / 353# KE / PF 169
    Remington Golden Saber 165 gr. @ 1,028 fps / 387# KE / PF 170

Even if I use the "softer" kicking 40 S&W loads as a comparison, they still produce more recoil than 357 Sig.

I had a g26 for a few years. Sold it and got a g23. It's not as snappy as some would lead you to believe. I think before I bought a g27 I'd rent one! I might not like it as much. But I'm willing to try one out.

You should enjoy it. I have been toting the same Glock 27 for 17+ years now. It never let's me down, and I have hit argets with mine that I had no business hitting. Mine has has been employed over the years to take a viscious pit bull, several wounded deer, so many snakes I can't count, and even once an errant gator that was intent of feeding on my Labrador.

It's just one of those guns that always happens to be there when I need one.

I have had a Glock 27 for the past year. I carry it daily off duty. Conceals well and shoots great. I haven't had any problems with it and I handle it well. Good choice. Good luck. Be Safe.

I have the same pistol. Will pick up next week. I already ordered night sights, extra mags and ammo. My G26 will be a primary, but the 27 will be a back up. After shooting the 27, the 26 is easy.

Have a G19 4th Gen and G26 3rd Gen. Like them both but I am thinking about a G23. Not sure.
