    Problem with a 40?

I just recently purchased a Springfield Arms XD 40. I was just wandering how many other people out there carry a XD 40 and they have ever had any problems? If so, what.

I have an XD9 service, an XD9 subcompact, and an XD40 subcompact. All three are excellent pistols and I have NEVER encountered any problems with them.
    Great pistol choice, btw.

I've had an XD 40 for 2 years now and it has one major problem:

when i go to the range, boxes of ammo seem to just disappear. i'm not really sure where it goes but all i'm left with is some targets with a ragged hole in the middle. it's the most peculiar problem.

other than that, not a single hiccup!

My primary carry piece is an XD40 service. I just cycled another 200 rounds through it at the range yesterday, and am still problem-free. My total round count is around 1500 rounds at this point. I've had the pistol for 5 months now if memory serves.

I have an XD 40 service. When I first got it I went thur a box of Reloads at my local range and I had 2 ftfeeds. I thought oh well this sucks but manual states use only factory ammo. So I went Thur about 600 rounds of Blazer brass from wally world and NOT 1 PROBLEM got a box of reloads and yep another ftfeed. Same range. I may try someone else's reloads sometime. My Beretta 9000s ate up all the reloads, about 200 with 1 ftfire but on second pull of trigger it went BANG. The 40 is FUN to shoot and the bullet goes where you aim it and my friend and his son (son new to handguns) really loved the 40! They prefer it to the 9000s. I am at about 1300 rounds now.
I just polished the Barrel and put on grip tape It looks GREAT. I hope to post some pics of my baby soon.

1700+ RDS fired, not one single problem. Not even when I didn't clean it for 1month between range visits (did that on purpose) just to see.

I have a Glock 23 with a Bar-Sto barrel and my friend's compact XD 40 S&W shoots just as well. Regards, Richard
