My Main EDC Came Home Tonite

It has been gone for a very long time getting finished up. I picked it up this evening at the UPS facility after having missed the delivery guy this morning.

It is a 3rd generation Glock 17 with the grip chopped to 19. It has forward-mounted Suppressor BUIS, a slide milled to accommodate the DeltaPoint 7.5 m.o.a., and a 1911-angle grip reduction. The grip chop was done awhile ago by Lou Biondo at Business End Customs. The slide milling, sight installation and grip reduction was done by David Bowie at Bowie Tactical Concepts Home Page.

Kewl, is the grip reduction cut/epoxy or heated and pressed?

It is an epoxy process, the details of which are kept fairly close to the vest.

Looks good. Need to send my 19 in for grip and maybe slide work.

Looks very good. I have a 17 sitting in the safe that would be a good candidate for something like that!

Are those stock irons, or did you go with the taller suppressor sights to give you buis? If you added tritium, is it front & rear? How well does tritium work with the dot sight?

    Thanks!

looks good mike, I keep wanting to straighten out the palm swell om my 19 but it makes me nervous to get the frame hot enough to do it, I think I will end up letting a shop do it that way if they blow it they get to replace the frame and not me.

Once afain I like the way your 17/19/1911 turned out
If it needs to be done, do it.

Looks good. How long was it gone?

I thought about having my HK Tactical slide milled for one of the Trijicon RMR sights.

Removing that palm swell takes the muzzle flip sometimes experienced during extension out, which can be very important on an RMR. That is the reason I had the grip reduction done. I have done quite a few of those extensions since I got the gun back, and the improvement in picking up the dot is significant. David Bowie takes awhile on his grip reductions, but does hundreds each year and has yet to scrap a gun or have one fail for a customer.

Looks good, Bowie does nice work. Let us know how you like the DeltaPoint. I've got a Trijicon RMR02 sitting around here doing nothing, I've been thinking about have Bowie do the slide work on one of my Commanders to accept a MRDS but I've read that the RMRs are a bit wide for the 1911 slide, so I'd probably look at swapping the RMR for a DP if I go that route.
