Why not get a 20 or a 29, and go with the full 10mm punch?

opps for some reason i read that as a 26

Id still go for the 357 sig instead and get a 40 barrel if need be or vice versa then ya can get 2 guns in one

course buy a new holster for the 29 get a 40 and 357 sig barrel then ya got 3 in one

The best thing I can suggest is that you buy said .40 and just send it to me. I am kind of anamoured with the .40 and will give it a happy home...even if it is a Glock.

This way you can get the therapy (I know I feel better when I buy a gun) and you can know that it will be well cared for.

I have found the 40 to be the "inbetween" caliber and I like it. Steve48

Be thankfull you aren't limited to a 9mm. I'm a .45 guy, but if I had to use a .40, I could live with it. I would guess it's effectiveness in real life is very close to the .45 with similar bullet placement.

On the plus side, practice ammo for the .40 is cheaper, so you can practice more.

The only .40 I have is a Browning Highpower and the only reason I have it is they didn't hav a .45. I actuall bought it for my collection.
It seemed like the right thing to do at the time.

I have a Sig 229 in .40 Studly & Wonderful it shoots like a dream and is quite manageable for my wife and older son. I've just ordered the .357Sig barrel for it, everybody has told me up to this point that if I enjoyed shooting the .40S&W, I will enjoy the .357Sig even more.

My Beretta and Glock .40s are my two favorite guns. Other rounds may be faster or bigger, but a .40 hollow point would definitely sting.... I'm just saying.

I am happy with my .40 XD. That does not keep me from looking at other guns though. We are only dating not married.
