The spirit is willing but the flesh...

    ... is weak.

I posted in General Firearms about a week ago about needing/wanting a big boomer handgun.

Well... last night on the way home from work I stopped by my local gun shop (Bradis for those of you around Indy) just to look around and this cute little thing followed me home.

I bought a new Taurus PT145 third gen that I've had my eye on. Hopefully I'll get around to breaking it in this weekend and report/pictures, etc.

Doesn't sound weak to me. Sounds like a good gun to purchase.

    Ahhh - the weak flesh.

At the peak of my gun buying I needed a skin graft - the flesh got that weak

    Spirit was fine tho

Thanks for the support, guys! :)

I'll still get the big boomer sometime but I'll have to wait for funds to build up again. ;-)

So far it's a keeper. Not a hiccup in 75 rounds but I'll run 150 more through it before I carry it.

My main carry is the bhp 9mm and I expected a greater perceived recoil on the short Taurus with .45 but it was really pretty enjoyable. I need to work on follow up shots, though.

Was about 1.5" low and to the left at 10 yards when I started (was I anticipating the recoil?) but by the end was starting to settle in nicely. Practice, practice, practice.
