I happened to be in a nice gunstore in the mountains yesterday, and they had a great price on a fully equipped Springfield Armory 1911. I mentioned it to Rhome last night, and he called me today to tell me that he was at our favorite range (The Range, in Fresno), and had negotiated a better deal on the same toy. I just happened to drop by (actually, I was parking when I realized I had accidently driven to the Range), and Rhome greeted me with a "look what I did for/to you" look. I don't need another 1911; I have 4. A fog passed over me, and I signed some paperwork, had thumbprints taken, and the next thing I know, I own a Springfield Armory PX0109L!! I don't even know how it happened! Rhome made me do it!! It is sweet, though; ambidextrous safety, night sights, all the toys. I will probably forgive Rhome eventually...

Sometimes a person is not fully aware of just how necessary it is to own a certain, specific firearm until an astute and kindly friend snatches you a better deal on it.
Now, I'm certain you realize just how much you absolutely needed it in the first place.

V nice John ........ I briefly had the use of an XJ150 back in mid 60's and all but got my hands on an "E" type too. Had to make do with a Mustang!

Sure wish the gun store I frequent could get Springer 1911's I want one and they seem to be on back order for forever because of the increase in production of those lil Plastic thing-a-mig-jiggers they've been making ( shot em dont care or em personally)lets stick to some good ol cold steel with plastic g10 or wood... only on the grips of the gun
