    Welcome to the forum.

For some mags, yes. I have three factory HK USP 12-round .45 mags that rattle when fully loaded. They work with no problems.

I have a few Mec-Gar made magazines for my Berettas and one or two other manufacturer's magazines that also rattle. They work as well.

The important thing is that the magazine works. If it does, but is rattling when loaded....no biggie.

If/when you get more S&W mags, see if they rattle when loaded too.

try smacking the base of the mag into the palm of your hand. Almost like you're packing a pack of cigarettes. It always works for me (of course that's with glock mags.)

I've had some slight rattle with mine, but not had any ill effects from it.

The mags don't rattle when there is pressure on the top round with your thumb, or when it's inserted into the pistol. It's only when they're loaded, but seperate. I'm at a loss, I figure it's just a quirk of the design.

I have one SIG mag that rattles, but only with a specific number of rounds. Works fine, drives me nuts!

My lone Sig P226 factory mag rattles when fully loaded, my 6 MecGar aftermarket mags don't rattle when full, empty or anywhere in between.

    Go figure.
