$1000 gun or My New Raptor (range report)

ok, so i did it. Bought the Raptor.Pics are forth coming
    Looks as expected. Perfect finish.
Cleaned it & shot about 150 rounds thru it so far with no problems.
    Love the grips!
    Shoots smooth!
The Mepro night sights are a real surprise cuz they sure shine!

Have not done a side by side compare with the Springer GI but it's coming. I need to adjust the trigger and do not know how that is done. Do I need a special tool? The manual does not even mention anything about it.

Shot groups of about 2" or less at 15 yards so it is more accurate than I am I'm sure.

    It will get carried.
It will get holster wear to its finish over time...fine with me.
The max-con holster fits it wonderfully. and with the reverse "scale" forward serrations it does give some resistance not felt on the Springer during its drawstroke from the holster. It is more predominant on the OWB holster i carry (brand name escapes me but 'factory') in than the Brommeland product..(hhhmmm..good thing I say)

Was it worth the 1000 bucks...to me I guess it was.

I will update with pics very soon..sorry no eye candy.

But for the first "high end" 1911, or any gun for that matter, I ever owned I am happy.

It is the 5' Raptor II.
They make a 4 1/4" and I believe it is the Pro-Raptor II.

Just gotta make the draw on that trigger shorter.

    Bud,
What IO would like to adjust is to pull the trigger back a lil bit. like 1/8" back 'into" the grip.
it sticks out farther than my Springer and i guess I have become accustomed to that trigger length.

    Can that be done?

Congrats on the Raptor acquisition! I love both my Kimbers (Desert Warrior and Ultra CDP II). Be diligent about the break-in period and it will treat you right. You know, I bet it would really look good in a Tucker HF-1 . . .

A bud of mine has a Raptor , and i have shot it quite a bit ( 1k rounds or so over time ) . I love it , with the only complaint being that his is the external extractor , and it will preform flawlessly untill dirty ( about 200 rounds of reloads ) , then its time to clean it . Its not a big issue , keep it clean and dayumm what a pistol , they do actualy shoot as good as they look lol .

Changing a trigger is super easy depending on fit if you get a oversize there is a lot of stoning

the main problem you might have is trying to match the triggers you could call springer and see if they will tell you who makes thiers and buy one to fit to kimber
