Out of the box, nail driver!!!

Well on Friday I got that call I had been waiting on from my gunsmith telling me my new toy was in!!

It's a 2-tone Sig P229R in .357sig. When I got home with her, lo & behold there on the front porch was a package from Eric & the gang @ Ammoman!! That's right 1000 rounds of 357sig!!! Yes, there must really be a Santa Claus, just a little mixed up on his timing this year.

Needless to say, Saturday afternoon couldn't get here fast enough to get to the indoor range, but once I got there I found I may have turned to the "Dark Side". Longtime Colt 1911 man turned Sig Sauer fanatic!!

The first 4 mags I literally blew out the 10 ring at 20yrds!! I have never done this with a handgun out of the box. I could do it with my Delta Elite, but that was after a very expensive barrel system.

A couple of the flyers in the 9 ring were my 5th mag that I shot all DA. Now I'm normally not a sharp shooter like some forum members, but for me to do this with an out of the box pistol is freakin' impressive. The range officer even came up behind me and said, "nice shootin'".

Had to call Gary today and ask him to switch my MaxCon VI order from an Officier's Model to a Sig P229R!!

In the meantime need to do a little temp holster shopping!

    P229s are accurate guns

Congratulations on your new Sig and the accurate shooting.

I believe that Sig P229s are among the most accurate guns right out of the box. I have one in .40 that I have owned for 7 years, and it is one of my favorites for target work. The trigger feel on these guns is outstanding.

impressive shooting. Especially right out of the box.
Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.
