What is the difference in grip thickness between the Beretta compact W/single stack and double stack magazines. I looked at a Taurus with a double stack mag, and the grip seemed a little thick for me. How does the single stack grip compare?
The original single stack Beretta 92 was the 92SB Compact Type M. It had thinner stocks that made the overall grip a bit more thinner than the current 92F.
The "current" Beretta 92F Compact (and more recent Compact L) Type M have thicker stocks that make only a bit less than the 92F. I don't know the exact grip circumferences so this is all my perception.
I have a 92F Compact Type M and 13 + 1 92F Compact. Great guns. I started carrying the Type M because the slight difference in the grip girth was enough for my smallish hands. Getting magazines for the Type M is a challenge. Ask nearly anyone who owns one.
