    My G23 project complete!

I bought a used G23 some time ago as a project gun- Thanks to Sixto who mentioned a Sig228 project!

I used a disk sander to contour the slide then finished with a hand file to match the front contouring of the G27 and other sub-compact Glocks, it came out well. I had a hard time deciding on finish. I would love NP3 but didn't want to wait 2 months+ to get it, I like hard chrome so there it is.

It came with night sites which is a must for me.

I wanted this to be a reliable rock solid carry gun, so No changes were made to trigger or any internal components... Except a new guide rod & spring.

Looks good! I thought about getting my 2nd gen G23 done like that...but I dunno. I always cringe when I hear a grinder hit steel!

    That's why I don't own a Dremel tool.

Very nice... kind of looks like some the SIG P239 SAS with the smooth edges and chrome slide.

I usually cringe when I see a post about a customized Glock but I have to say that really looks good!

    It looks like mine...

My hard chrome Glock 23 looks similar to yours, except mine lacks finger grooves and still has all the metal on the slide.

Looks very good. I like it.

makes me think I might like to have that done to mine.
How hard was it to do without screwing up the slide? And, who did you have hard chrome the slide? What was the cost to have it hard chromed?

    Details, details!

Sig239 (Mike) I was scared that I would screw up. We chopped a block of wood and chiseled out a slot for the rear site to use as a jig, then just took it slow. I had my sons G26 slide on the bench, so I just kept comparing to get the depth and angles right. It wasn't too dificult really.
I used Tripp research for the chrome it was $130 for slide and barrel and took about 10 days to get back.

That looks amazing. If I had the skill to do that, my 23 would be done like that. In fact, there may be a couple of people in this thread that had 23s that looked like that.

I sent you a PM kylebce. Just asking a few questions.

I still like the way that 23 looks. I would love to do that to mine but I don't trust my skills with a file enough to go grinding on my gun. I don't think mine would end up looking as nice as yours. Mine would be a mess.
