    NEW GUN...soon

After 3 gun shows and trips to every store in NE Ohio I made my first online gun purchase sunday. The last show was a disaster when i found the exact gun i wanted to buy (only one at the show) and the gentleman kindly informed me he would not remove the rope that tied that gun down to the table top so i could check it out. I had let him know i wanted to buy it but i would at least like to work the slide first. His response was he didn't have time to watch me. So he still has it and I'll be welcoming a NEW Taurus PT38 into the family. Range report will follow next week.

Personally, I like this family of Taurus guns. I've had a PT-92 for 14 years with zero problems. When I got my CCW I looked hard at the PT-909 and 940, but decided on the S&W M&P. My only question with the 38, is the availability of cheap practice ammo, and affordable duty ammo. Also what holster choices are there.

As far as gun show purchases, the guns are waaaaayyyy over priced at our local shows; typically $50 more that the local shops. I don't know what these guys are thinking.

I had a RI .45 Commander up till about 2 weeks ago. During the time that I had it I had no problems, except when I was using some 8 round Wilson Combat mags that someone loaned me. I had some feeding trouble with those for some reason. The stock 6 rounder worked just fine. Gun shot like a champ and ate whatever I put in it. I would get another one when I get a chance.

I have a PT92 and have had zero problems, I think you did great.

The 38 super is a classic round and someday I would like to own one.

Just don't let Tommy Lee Jones see it. Remember what he said to Robert Downey Jr. in "US Marshalls" when Downey pulled out one of those?

I think you did well. I love the 38 super ctg, as it's similer to the 357 Sig in velocity and ballistics.. . Seems recoil and such will be very tame when you shoot it, but nuthin wrong with that either
