    My Favorites (1911's) So Far

Just thought I would show off my everyday carry pieces. I carry one of these all the time depending on how I'm dressed. If shirt is too short S&W pokes out. Both are dependable and shoot well but the Officer is picky on ammo, likes Blazer Alum. cased. S&W shoots anything so far, been using Winchester white box 100 bulk pack, doesn't work in Officer though, have extraction problems about 1 to magazine. S&W is more accurate, but both shoot better than me though.

Very nice indeed, Bob my friend. I too, carry a 1911 daily alternating
    between a 3" Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry, a 5" stainless S&W 1911,
and a 5" Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special. Enjoy~!

Thanks Dan, I had just made a new photo setup and decided to take a few shots of my favorites. Didn't turn out to bad after a few tries. Nice thing about digital, you can see now and delete bad ones, I had some real deadbeats. I do favor the 1911's though. I notice the difference between 3.5" and 4.25", doesn't seem like .75" would but it does.

    Hi Andy,
I've tried McCormic, MacGar, original Colt, and Wilson so far. Am now looking for another ammo to try besides alum case Blazer. Blazer seems to be dirty but it works. Haven't tried Blazer brass or Remington brass case yet.

I love the grips on the blued model! Who makes those?

And while we're at it, if I could buy JUST ONE 1911, it would be hands down, the Sheriff Jim Wilson model by Ed brown. Have you seen this iron? AWESOME! But...at $2,295 MSRP, I guess I'll pass!

    Hi All,
Thanks for all the compliments, I am glad there are still some 1911 lovers out there now that there's a lot of plastic around. I've been using 1911's since the late 50's early 60's. I will try the Remington brass in the Officer next. Picked up the stocks at a gun show somewhere, they were cheap ones. I can't remember where but they were homemade and found somewhere within 200 miles of NW Ohio. I still see them sometimes. S&W shows a little wear but I carry a lot, it's not a safe queen. I'm not a collector, it sees a lot of use. I try to keep it clean and well lubed. Works 100%. Officer does too when I use the ammo it likes. I have seen the Ed Brown model, drool and wish only. I try to keep gun purchases under $1000 too.

    Ed Browns

Great guns; very tight and less $ than Baer or WIlson. They both , I think, use Brown parts!

    Nice looking pistols, Bob.
